The prestigious awards ceremony was held on Sunday, 15th September at Leicester’s renowned Athena venue, bringing together esteemed restaurateurs, chefs, dignitaries, and food enthusiasts to celebrate culinary excellence across the region. My Delhi wins Best Street Food 2025 at the Leicestershire Curry Awards!
The 2025 Leicestershire Curry Awards marked the ninth annual celebration of the region’s vibrant curry heritage, recognising the very best in South Asian cuisine across Leicester and Leicestershire. Finalists were announced in July, and the glittering awards ceremony took place on Monday 15 September 2025 at the iconic Athena in Leicester. The event brought together top chefs, restaurateurs, dignitaries, and community figures to honour culinary excellence across a range of categories including Best Restaurant, Best Fine Dining, and Best Street Food.
My Delhi was honoured to be named Best Street Food, a recognition that further strengthens its reputation as a pioneer of authentic Indian street food in the region. Hosted by well-known local personalities including Priti Raichura and covered by BBC Radio Leicester, the ceremony highlighted both the cultural significance and economic impact of Leicester’s thriving food scene.
Accepting the award, Director Elahi Amin paid tribute to the team:
“We dedicate this award to our incredible team, who work tirelessly to provide our guests with a dining experience like no other. The values of hospitality were instilled in us by my late father, who taught us to welcome guests as if they were dining in our own home.
